Welcome to St Paul’s Barrow!

We're an ordinary group of people who have discovered the extraordinary love of Jesus.

Whether you're exploring Christianity for the first time, returning to church after many years, or looking for a church family, we'd love to welcome you.

Most weeks we have visitors at St Paul's, so if you're thinking about coming for the first time, chances are you won't be the only one. You'd be really welcome!

What to expect on a Sunday

Our most popular service is Sunday at 10am.

You'll find a friendly welcome, Bible teaching, prayer, singing, and people of all ages gathering together to worship Jesus.

You don't need to dress up, know any special church language, and you definitely don't need to have everything figured out. Just come as you are.

If you're nervous about visiting, our welcome team will be happy to help you find your way around and answer any questions.

Bringing children?

Children and young people are a valued part of church life at St Paul's.

Most Sundays we have groups for children and young people where they can learn about Jesus in an engaging and age-appropriate way. We also have a creche space. On a Sunday morning at 10am, typically a third of those attending are under 18, so we understand that children don't always sit still and make noise - that's completely fine.

What kind of church are we?

First and foremost we're a church centred on Jesus Christ and shaped by the Bible.

We want to help people come to know Jesus, grow in faith, and live for him in everyday life in dependence upon the Holy Spirit. That's why we aim for everything we do to be driven by God's word and God's love for the world.

We're part of the Church of England and the parish church for Hawcoat, though our church community includes people from across Barrow and South Cumbria as well as people from all sorts of church backgrounds and none.
